Our process - How we work
We aim to make the recording process comfortable and productive. Whether you’re stepping into a studio for the first time or you’ve recorded before, knowing what to expect helps things run smoothly. Here’s how we work, and what you can do to get the most out of your time with us.

Tracking
Tracking is where we capture your performance. Come well-rehearsed, with lyrics finalised and arrangements locked in. If you’re not used to playing to a click, practice this beforehand. The more prepared you are, the more we can focus on capturing the energy and emotion in the room.
Before your session, we’ll ask you to send over a rough recording of each song, which we’ll use to prepare the session in advance so everything’s ready to go. On the day, we’ll start with a scratch (throwaway) track to guide the process, then move through instruments and finish with vocals.

Editing & Mixing
Once the parts are recorded, we move to editing, where we’ll create a composite take, and fine-tune the pitch and timing where needed. We keep things tight without losing the human feel - it’s about enhancing your sound, not polishing it flat.
Next, mixing is where everything comes together. We’ll shape the tone, balance levels, and carve out space so each part shines. It’s helpful to share reference tracks you like the sound of - both as a whole and examples where you like specific elements. We’ll use that to guide the direction and feel of your mix.
The mixing is lush. I’m so proud.

Mastering
Mastering gives the final mix its polish and consistency, helping it sound clear and balanced different systems — whether you’re streaming in the car, listening on your radio, or have a vinyl on your Hi-Fi. We’ll give your mix the clarity and loudness it needs to sit comfortably alongisde other industry standard tracks.
Once that’s done, we’ll share the master with you for feedback. Each mix includes a number of pre-agreed revisions, and we’ll work with you so you’re happy. When you are, we’ll send you the high-quality digital files ready for release.
